I have been singing rock seriously since I was 16, after years of choir in church as a kid. I was the only guy in the band who could handle the leads. I was the drummer, and was soon convinced to front the band, and we added a new drummer. The rest is history. I had a roommate in the Air Force with two acoustic guitars who taught me some chords. I started writing my own songs shortly after that. I was in two standout bands in Boston, “Masterpiece,” featuring Joe Stump and David Rosenthal and “The Lines,” who had some local airplay and toured all over New England and Bermuda. I love to write and became interested in country music as well, and produced a few albums.
How I joined EWS, I’ve always loved the music of early Van Halen, and really enjoy playing the role of David Lee Roth. This gig found me through a friend, and I wasn’t looking to be in a tribute band, but once I started learning the material, I began to think ahead to the actual stage show. The more the band got tight, the more I absorbed and watched videos of the early Van Halen concerts. Applying DLR’s moves, mannerisms, and vocal style has been a challenge. David Lee Roth was a character for sure. it’s so much fun! People love Van Halen and EWS takes them back to their youth and those great memories we all have. It’s a privilege to be part of this great show and bring this excitement to our fans.
